After losing someone dear to her,fem finds the courage to confront her Jamaican father about his absences. A conversation that leads to an unspoken truth.
Fem is a quiet, Masc-presenting woman who keeps her feelings to herself and moves through the world keeping herself hidden. She didn’t grow up seeing her father much and only later learns she was conceived from a one-night stand—knowledge that shaped their relationship with distance. While she’s learning to drive, her coworker Jonny watches from the sidelines. After the loss of her grandmother, Fem’s hurt turns into questioning the relationship she’s had with her father and his absence in her life. When he comes to town, memories and feelings surface and spark inner-child work. When they finally meet, the wall of fear comes down as she steps into her power and asks the questions she deserves answers to.
